or How I Got From New Jersey to Qinhuandao & Stayed
(The perfect time to read this blog is at 2am when you haven't been able to sleep - it will put you right out)
Friday, June 15th, 2012. The Adventure
begins:
Continuing with my self-destructive behavior of procrastinating beyond all rationality, I was still picking up things while dragging my over filled suitcase and messenger bag out the door. While waiting on the porch I had to ask Lori to go back up and get something else in the hope of repacking the suitcase during the ride to Penn Station – ended up asking Fran (sister) & Lori (niece) to send yet another box to CA for me ( the third) – yes, I know, Denny travels the world with a backpack and one small suitcase, while I have shipped a 75 lb box to china and two more totaling about 40 lbs to California, where I pick up my carry-on luggage and cram in the contents of the two boxes plus the huge carry on piece I am currently using, on the other hand he doesn’t have 60 years of collecting proof of life items to deal with. Different generation, they collect digital pictures and videos and tweets and e-mails. Of course I have a small digital camera, but I shipped my old reliable Minolta to CA with all its lenses and even remembered to get film and batteries.

Wish I hadn’t been so lost in my own thoughts while waiting at Penn station, only had a few minutes of people watching to enjoy. There was the business man in white button down shirt and tie with some kind of mini hanger holding his suit jacket swinging from his backpack as he was running to catch his train. The pretty young woman with a sweet face and huge thighs wearing jean cutoffs so short they might have been banned at a swim club, adding to this interesting wardrobe selection were the stuffed front pockets of the cutoffs which were bulging out from under the front of the shorts.
When it came time to watch for the track number announcement there had to be 70 people waiting who took off like there was a $1000 bill giveaway when the gate number came up, naturally, the first person in line did not have her ticket out and we all had to wait while she dug around in her bag for it.

Please Note:
Most of what you will find here was written either while it was happening or shortly thereafter and a good deal of it is stream of consciousness. I have not edited for anything more than spelling and a little grammar, I have been attempting to relate the actual experiences not tell a "story" about them.
